Who is Tresna?

In 2009  I sold my house and most of my belongings, got out of the rat race and started living with a more intentional focus on my passions. I travelled for months, sat in hammocks for days and generally washed 9 years of corporate life out of my hair.

In 2010 I moved back to my hometown of Melbourne, became single, started working in the hospitality industry and decided to start ignoring some of the rule books that in the past held me back from chasing my dreams.  I enjoy mental creativity, thinking about possibilities and adventures. Over the last two years I’ve turned my life on it’s head and have rediscovered what it means to be “me”.

I love food and how the heart of a person can be revealed in the way that they cook, eat and share food. I grow vegetables, cook a lot and like to read cookbooks to understand the world. I sometimes wish I had been born in to a Greek or Spanish family, so that my grandmother would have revealed the mysteries of her kitchen to me.

I love sharing food and helping people experience new flavours so in early 2011 I started a little business called Geisha 2.0.

I enjoy people and their stories and foodhands.com is one of my projects that allows me to find out more.

Discovering new places and building strong relationships is important to me, so my latest adventure at Yelp is a beautiful fit.

Food, creativity, new places, relationships, stories –  I now spend most days focussed on one or more of these passions. This blog is about my life, little things that bring me pleasure and charts my journey. I hope it inspires you to follow the “thing” that has you jumping out of bed in the morning.

I applaude you! for your quest to get to know your self and when you do , you will have understanding and compassion for other people…………one day you might be the grandmother who shares her secrets…..in the meantime keep tweeting and blogging ( good substitute hehehehe)

I love this:

“I sometimes wish I had been born in to a Greek or Spanish family, so that my grandmother would have revealed the mysteries of her kitchen to me.”

Or Italian. But anyways… same here :)

What an inspiring story, Tresna! I take my hat off to you as most people wouldn’t have the guts to relinquish the rat race. Can’t wait to read about your discoveries.
