Reinvigorating the Art of Letter Writing

July 3, 2010

Dear Letterbox,

I wonder if you get bored, or even lonely, with all the junk mail and bills.   You rarely see real letters these days – pretty envelopes containing party invitations, pages of hand written words from friends or little notes expressing gratitude. These sorts of letters seem to be a thing of the past.

Now it’s all about the number of e-mails in our inbox. But no matter who the sender, or how thoughtfully composed, it never replaces the thrill of tearing open an envelope and seeing handwriting across the page.

I know I miss it. I wonder if you do to?

Letterbox

Would you like a real letter?   Communicate your details to me and a letter or card will be yours*   My pen across a page just for you  -  delivered to your lonely mailbox.

I agree! That thrill is gone!

Hi Tresna,
I would love to receive a real letter … and will send one in return. :)
I’ll email my address.

I miss those days where I’d sit & write long letters to friends & family – now it’s all about tapping out a quick one…

I love receiving letters. I still have every letter ever written to me, I take them out every now and again to re-read.
I have one on my work desk at the moment, it’s about cinnamon prunes, it comforts me and remind’s me of home :)

Am I too late to ask for one? I am very much into, proper invitations and thank you cards. I love getting letters but find it hard to find the time to write one. :)

oooh writing ‘real’ letters was one of my new years resolutions. It has kinda fallen by the wayside recently – so I must fix that asap!!!
